Your Skin and Permanent Makeup

Your skin type needs to be evaluated before you get a permanent makeup treatment. It plays a major role in how the pigment will heal and the rate at which it will fade.

OILY & COMBINATION SKIN will heal the softest.

Microblading and machine hair stroke design will heal powdery as opposed to those with dry skin. How oily your skin is will make a difference.  Color will fade quicker over time with oily skin.

DRY SKIN will heal very clean.

Hair strokes will heal very crisp.  Dry skin will retain color the best because fewer oils are coming through the skin.  Color needs to be applied lightly!  This skin type will take longer to fade.

NORMAL SKIN is well balanced and will heal with the best results.  Long lasting!

*Microbladed brows are the least permanent of all because of the shallow depth in which the pigment is placed. It requires more touch ups than other techniques. Typically, clients come back between 6-12 months for a colour boost.  The more touch ups with Microblading the more scarring & scar tissue buildup (because the pigment is inserted by cutting the skin). Microblading is less effective on oily/combination skin.  We no longer offer this treatment at LIFT PMU for obvious reasons.

*Powder brows use a machine tattooing method, with longer lasting results, and works with ALL skin types, including oily or combination skin. Clients come back for color boosts closer to the 18-24 month mark.  No cutting, which means no scarring.

Every person's skin holds pigment differently.  Each new client will need a touchup 6-8 weeks after initial appointment.  At the touchup appointment, I will evaluate your skin and discuss with you any adjustments that need to be made.
