FAQS

+ What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup is the process of implanting color into the dermal layer of skin with the use of specially designed digital machine.

+ What is a Powder Brow?

Unlike Microblading, the Powder process creates a soft, powder-filled brow similar to the look of makeup. The tails of the brow are darker and fade into a light start at the beginning and top of the brow, giving that eye-catching ombre makeup effect!

+ What is Microblading?

Microblading is the "latest" in permanent make up. It originated in Asia and is also known as embroidery, microstroking and feathering. It does not involve the use of a machine; it is performed by using a micro-blade (small blade) to cut hair strokes into the skin. After offering this treatment for 2+ years Katrina decided to take this service off her menu - results are NOT long lasting and too much trauma to the skin (the machine technique is more gentle). If you have oily skin, mature skin, or old color this treatment is definitely not for you. It requires more touchups, which means more cutting. Scar tissue buildup over time is our concern here. Please contact us for more info - happy to elaborate on this topic.

+ Is it painful?

The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied during to keep this to a minimum to where it is completely tolerable.

+ Will it fade over time?

The procedure is permanent, although most clients will experience some fading and will choose to return for touch-ups 1.5-2.5 years later.

+ How do you decide on color?

There is a right color for everyone. We take into consideration your natural skin color, hair color, and eye color. A soft, natural color is always preferred.

+ Does everyone's skin heal the same?

Everyone's skin is different and therefore may heal differently from these treatments. Depending on your skin type and how well your body heals from small scabs, some areas might retain pigment better than others. The results of your procedure is determined in part by the nature of the pathology of skin type, but not limited to the following factors:

Medication you are currently taking // Skin Characteristics: dryness, oiliness, thickness, sun-damages, color, chemically-damaged, etc. // Natural skin undertones mixing with pigment color. // Personal pH balance of skin, tanning booths, fruit acids, AHA’s and Retin A use. // Alcohol intake, smoking, sun exposure and improper skin care. // In some cases, these factors can or may interfere with acceptance and overall fading of color pigment.

+ Will I have to take time off work?

No. After the brow procedure you will have minimum swelling and redness. There is really no down time. Most clients are happy from the moment they look into the mirror.
Expect to see some swelling with the eyeliner and lip blush treatments for 1-2 days.

+ What is the aftercare?

You must keep the area clean and apply a thin layer of ointment at least 3 times a day for 10-14 days (depending on procedure). You must keep the area dry and avoid sun during this time.
